Rava Idali





Ingredients
Sooji /Rava(Semolina flour)-2 cups
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Ginger paste-1tsp
Finely chopped green chilies-4 pcs
Chana daal-2 tsp
Baking soda-1/2 tsp
Grated carrot-1 cup
Cashews(optional)- 2 tbsp
Finely chopped coriander -2 tbsp
Grated coconut(fresh or frozen)-3-4 tbsp
Yogurt-2 cups
Oil- 3-4 tbsp
Salt- to taste
Method
  1. Dry roast sooji for 7-8 min on low-medium heat until golden. 
  2. Heat oil  in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When they start popping, add ginger, green chilies, chana daal and fry for sometime. Switch off the heat and immediately add sooji, mix well.
  3. Add salt, soda, carrot, coriander leaves, coconut,cashew, yogurt/curd and mix well.Keep aside for  30mins.
  4. Grease an idli stand. Pour 1-2 tbsp mixture in mould according to mould size. Steam for around 15-17 mins on medium-high heat in steamer.let it cool for 1 -2 min. Remove Idalis from mould..
  5. Serve hot with coconut Chutney & Sambhar.
